The name if this article is: God Gave You Two Legs So Use Them. Oh, your reply is you have two butt cheeks as well and you are putting them to good use on the couch. Well I have been there and done that too. The problem with that is I gained weight and my health declined. My blood pressure shot up and my cholesterol was trying to tap dance on an early grave. Running and other forms of exercise have turned that around for me.
Wait until you can’t use your legs
Now I’m not saying that you have to be crippled to understand this point. However, when I first started running I got severe shin splints from extreme training that prevented me from being able to run for almost three weeks. Everywhere I went I would see someone jogging and it would crush me. They were getting to enjoy the very thing that I couldn’t. It sucked!
Also keep in mind that the longer you are a couch potato, the more your killing your metabolism. You are increasing your chances for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and a whole list of other things that come from sitting on your backside all day long. Speaking of not using your legs, wait until you get diabetes and possibly lose a foot or a leg. It happens. Don’t think so? The stats show that it happens.
People take their health for granted
People really do take things for granted and their health is one of the biggest and most important thongs to take for granted. Running can help improve your health in many ways thus increasing the amount of time you spend on this earth. Not only that but the quality of life is much better for someone that has taken care of their bodies and lived a healthier lifestyle.
Eventually your metabolism will slow down like everyone else
Ever heard of Metabolism? Well just keep watching T.V. all day long and stuffing your face and you’ll find out about metabolism soon enough. The more you are stationary, the slower your metabolism will become and the harder it will be for you to shed those unwanted pounds. The worst part of it is that once it becomes slower, you lose the energy to perform even the simplest of exercises thus making it harder for you to be motivated to get up and do things.
Who is that person in the mirror?
Look around. Look in the mirror especially. Does that look like the same person you knew a year ago or maybe five or ten years ago? No? Are there two of you now? That’s what happened to me. I had gained so much weight I did not even look the same. I did not gain double my weight but it was substantial enough that I could literally see the difference. I needed a change. Chances are that if you are reading this, you do too. In the first show of the second season of the Fit 360 Power Hour Radio Show, a guest by the name of Coach Max Howell made a hilarious statement. He said when he wanted to be motivated to lose weight he would strip down naked and stand in front of the mirror and jump up and down. He said that was all the motivation he needed.
What this article is meant to do
So this article is meant to help you and motivate you to get off the couch and get moving. It’s not meant to tear you down but to build you up. So please, get off your booty and get those legs that God gave you moving while you still can.
